The Prime Warden Ben Laurie and Chief Executive of the British Equestrian Federation Jim Eyre were delighted to welcome equestrian Olympic and Paralympic athletes to Saddlers’ Hall to celebrate their recent success in Paris. Also in attendance were British Horse Society Riding School proprietors that had shown an interest in supporting the Society’s ‘Everyone Welcome’ programme. Beverley Simms, a trustee, spoke about plans to expand the reach of the project and grow opportunity for all to take part in equestrian activities. Whatever an individual’s ability, background, culture or identity….people are welcome to be part of the equestrian community. All present agreed that we will be all the better for being more diverse, equitable and inclusive – as individuals and as a sector. Vice Chair of the British Olympic Association, Olympian Annamarie Phelps, concluded the event by reflecting on the success of Paris and looking ahead to Los Angeles in 2028. Thank you to all that took part, and congratulations to our wonderful athletes and their support teams.
