New Saddler’s Company Award developed with Cockpit Studios

We’re proud to announce that applications are now open for the brand-new Saddlers’ Award — closing Tuesday 30 September 2025.

Developed in partnership with Cockpit Studios, the Saddlers’ Award is a three-year opportunity designed to support a skilled maker working in saddlery or leathercraft. The award includes:

• Subsidised studio space for three years within the creative community at Cockpit Deptford
• Business and professional development including on-site coaching, workshops, and seminars
• Networking, selling, and promotional opportunities including twice-yearly Open Studios events which welcome 7,000+ people each year
• Opportunities to collaborate with other craftspeople in the Cockpit community

This award reflects the Saddlers’ Company’s ongoing commitment to supporting excellence in traditional craft, while helping talented individuals build sustainable, future-facing businesses.

We’re delighted to support this new initiative and look forward to welcoming the first successful applicant into this exciting programme.
