The National Pony Club Championships once again played host to Master Saddler Godfrey Morris who offered demonstrations and ‘have a go’ sessions for participants, parents and supporters alike. Godfrey, previously at the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery, also showed off some of his fantastic craftsmanship. www.crowncraftleather.com
Also taking part was Helen Sida-Page who was educating and testing teams of young equestrians about tack care, optimum fit and management to ensure that their horses and ponies were comfortable and could perform to their best. These sessions were hugely oversubscribed demonstrating a growing understanding and determination to be the best possible custodians for their equine friends. Such sentiments were reinforced by the keen interest in the Blue Cross Horse and Pony Care Championships – won this year by Heyfield Equestrian Centre.
The Company’s support for the Pony Club both for initiatives around good tack fit and horse welfare, and the promotion of inclusion, equality and diversity amongst members, volunteers, and staff under score a firm commitment to responsible horse ownership and considerate riding; objectives shared with the Equine Fitters Council. www.equinefittersdirectory.org
