Members of the Saddlers Trade Liaison Committee visited Mark and Dawn Romaine at the Saddlery Training Centre in Salisbury to meet students undertaking the new Trailblazer Level 2 and Level 3 Apprenticeships. The Society of Master Saddlers worked in partnership with The Saddlers and others in the Leather Employers Group to push through the qualification which will qualify for £5000 of Government Funding per student; or £8000 if they are aged 16-18. It is anticipated that the Level 3 Bespoke Saddler and and Level 2 Leather Craftsperson will be delivered to meet employer demand in Bridgewater and Walsall in addition to Salisbury.
