The sun shone as students, staff and supporters of City, University of London joined the amazing 2023 Lord Mayors Show. The origins of the Lord Mayor’s Show date back to 1215, when King John gave the people of London the authority to choose their mayor. This year, the University chose a magnificent red London Bus as their float.
Founded in 1894 as the Northampton Institute by The City of London Corporation, The Skinners’ Company and The Saddlers’ Company, it went on to became a university when The City University was created by royal charter in 1966. Today it includes the famous Bayes Business School, known for its world-class business education, excellent research reputation, and deep engagement with business.
The Prime Warden, Hugh Taylor, and Key Warden, Ed Bullen much enjoyed the opportunity to meet those currently at the University who the Company has supported with a substantial grant every year since 1894. 2024 will mark the 130th Anniversary of this significant partnership. An Entrepreneurship Seminar is planned to mark this important landmark.
