Several members of Saddlers’ Company attended the World Horse Welfare Conference 2023 – Horses and the Environment: Friend or Foe.
It was very interesting to hear more about the link between keeping horses for working the land, leisure, competing and the environmental impacts.
The many informative sessions covered a wide range of topics, from; Addressing the environmental impact of horse sport by Ruth Dancer, from environmental sustainability consultancy White Griffin to Wicken Fen: horses as a landscape-scale conservation grazing tool by Carol Laidlaw, from the National Trust.
