16 intrepid Saddlers recently cycled 175 miles from the Walsall Leather Skills Centre to Saddlers’ Hall in the City of London raising funds for Shelter from the Storm; a completely free emergency night shelter providing bed, dinner and breakfast for 36 people who have experienced homelessness every night of the year. The ride also served to shine a spotlight on the traditional heritage craft of saddlery and the growing range of courses and qualifications available at the Walsall Leather Skills Centre.
The opportunity was also taken to call in on partnered charities and organisations including; Summerfield Community Stables, the Riding for the Disabled, Pony Club, British Horse Society, British Equestrian Federation, RB Equestrian and the Horse Trust.
Thank you to all those that made the riders so welcome; and to our families, friends and supporters who raised nearly £30,000.
