Freeman James Emtage sets up Covid 19 Food Bank

Freeman James Emtage has been running a food bank in Hackney, 3 miles North East of Saddler’s Hall, to provide daily hot meals to those badly affected by COVID-19. The initiative started 6 weeks ago and is feeding up to 200 people a day, made up of families facing financial hardship, elderly people having to self isolate, individuals recovering from COVID-19 or isolating due to showing symptoms, and anyone else who is in a new state of need as a result of the pandemic. Starting out in his home, the project is now being run in a local pub kitchen which is unable to trade at the moment, with a team of volunteer chefs and helpers who have mostly been furloughed.
