The Worshipful Company of Saddlers is led by HRH The Princess Royal GCVO as Master, with Mark Romain MBE as Prime Warden for 2026/27, supported by a team of Wardens and Officers responsible for the Company's day-to-day running.
The positions of Master, Wardens and Officers ensure the Company's smooth running.
The three officers of the Company were established by the Charters as the need for them arose. The Clerk was established in the 15th century when the Court found it necessary to keep accounts and records; the Clerk is the Company's principal officer and chief executive. The Beadle appeared not long after the Chaplain and is today the Company's ceremonial officer, responsible for the day to day running of Saddler's Hall. Reference to a chaplain appears in a 12th century document, though the office was formally authorised in the Charter of Richard II in 1395.
The Perpetual Master is HRH The Princess Royal GCVO.
The Clerk is Brigadier Philip M.L. Napier OBE, the Company's principal officer and chief executive, responsible for the conduct of its business.
The Beadle, currently Keith Marsh, is the Company's ceremonial officer, responsible for administering the Freedom and Livery and for the day to day running of Saddler's Hall.
