The Prime Warden, Ben Laurie, and the Chief Executive of the British Equestrian Federation, Jim Eyre, welcomed equestrian Olympic and Paralympic athletes to Saddler's Hall to celebrate their success at the Paris Games.
Also in attendance were British Horse Society Riding School proprietors interested in supporting the Society's 'Everyone Welcome' programme. Beverley Simms, a trustee, spoke about plans to expand the reach of the project and grow opportunities for people to take part in equestrian activities, whatever their ability, background, culture or identity. Attendees agreed that the sport will be all the better for being more diverse, equitable and inclusive, as individuals and as a sector.
Vice Chair of the British Olympic Association, Olympian Annamarie Phelps, closed the event by reflecting on the success of the Paris Games and looking ahead to Los Angeles in 2028. Thanks were extended to all who took part, and congratulations offered to the athletes and their support teams.
