A further ten students graduated from the Saddlers Flexible Learning Programme at the British Racing School in Newmarket, a scheme open to 14 to 16 year olds that offers day release from school to learn to become a racing jockey.
The scheme offers pupils aged 14 to 16 the opportunity for day release from school, or home learning one day a week, in order to learn to become a racing jockey. The successful graduates were joined by family, friends and staff to celebrate their achievements, with all of them securing employment in the equestrian sector or continuing their education in school or college.
The Saddler's Company Charitable Fund has backed the programme for seven years, part of the Company's wider support for pathways into equestrian careers alongside its work with the Pony Club, Riding for the Disabled and equine research bodies.
