The first cohort of leather, saddlery and craft entrepreneurs has completed the Bayes Business School 'Business for Creatives' programme, a three-day course jointly sponsored by The Saddler's Company to build entrepreneurial knowledge in the creative sector.
Run over three days, the course gave new entrepreneurial knowledge and skills to those in the creative sector growing their own business or building on existing success. Catherine Baker of CB Saddlery said: 'I found it incredibly insightful to connect with business owners from similar but slightly different fields. It's a testament to the fact that businesses often face similar challenges, regardless of their industry. I feel we have developed camaraderie, which will last and provide us with the opportunity to learn from one another. All the lecturers were fantastic and we all took something useful away from each session. Bill Amberg's chat on the final day was excellent and provided essential practical advice for any business owner!'
The programme was jointly sponsored by Bayes Business School and the Saddler's Company, with thanks extended to the lecturers and academic staff who gave their time to support those who would benefit most from their knowledge, skill and experience.
Renowned leather businessman Bill Amberg wrapped up the course with an address covering examples of best practice for attendees. Bill Amberg Studio has existed for over 30 years and today stands as an industry leader in bespoke leather products, interiors and furniture, bringing together designers and artisans from saddlery, case-making, bookbinding and other forms of fine leathercraft. Plans are under way to offer further business-focused opportunities to those in the sector who often face real challenges in accessing this kind of training.
It is a three-day course run by Bayes Business School and jointly sponsored by The Saddler's Company, designed to build business knowledge for saddlers, leatherworkers and other creative entrepreneurs.
Leather businessman Bill Amberg, founder of Bill Amberg Studio, closed the programme with an address on best practice for business owners.
